ANES Online Commons HOW TO POST A COMMENT Any Registered User can post a comment on a proposal, or reply to the comments of others. Guests cannot post comments. Comments are shown in the order of posting - either oldest first (which is the default) or newest first. To change this order for a specific discussion, look at the bottom of the discussion page for the box where you can change the setting from "Oldest First" to "Newest First" or vice-versa. The set of comments on a proposal or discussion, serve as a documented conversation. To post a comment:
The Board will learn from comments on the OC how ideas stand up to public scrutiny. We are as interested in the content of scholarly discussions of proposals as we are in the proposals themselves. All else constant, the most credible proposals will be ones that: follow the posted guidelines, have the potential to provide great value to the ANES user community, elicit lots of supportive responses, and withstand scrutiny. When you post a comment on a proposal, please feel free to state both positive and negative evaluations. Constructive criticisms are welcome, and may be helpful to authors should they choose to later revise their proposal. This sort of open discussion will benefit not only the quality of proposals, but improve the resulting ANES studies. However, please make sure that your comments adhere to the OC code of conduct to which you agreed when you registered.
