Stanford Operations

Matthew DeBell
Matt is the director of Stanford operations for ANES. He is responsible for managing the 2006 Pilot Study and the 2006-08 Panel Study. Matt works with the PIs and Board of Overseers to make decisions about study design, field operations, and data dissemination. He contributes to questionnaire development, manages contracts for data collection, oversees field operations, checks data for quality assurance, and analyzes data.


Michigan Operations

Darrell Donakowski
Darrell is responsible for project management, oversight of data collection and outreach activities, protection of archived study materials, and setting direction, timelines, and staffing levels for operations. Darrell works with the PIs and the ANES Board of Overseers to set project goals, maintain linkages between studies in the time series, and ensure continuity in the ANES program of research. Darrell has oversight of financial administration, post-award activity, personnel matters, and prepares reports to funding organizations. He works with the PIs and Board of Overseers to make decisions about study design, field operations, and dissemination.

Patricia Luevano
Pat is the project's primary person for data management and analysis. She is responsible for computer-based operations pertaining to study preparation and quality assurance, data and documentation processing, the ANES archive, special user services, and special online resources. Pat formulates complete computer systems, requirements, and procedures for processing data. She performs consistency checking, logic analysis, and cleaning of complex study data files. Pat also provides and reviews data analyses to be included in externally distributed products.

Laurie Pierson
Laurie is the ANES Web Designer. She works on site redesigns, maintains backup files, and converts and uploads new content. She coordinates the archiving and backup of web resources and usage statistics. Laurie maintains the ANES mailing list. Laurie also tracks use of ANES data and maintains the ANES Bibliography. She maintains the ANES Reference Library archives and prepares and edits reference lists for publications.

Kelly Zidar
Kelly formulates, develops, implements, and maintains computer systems and procedures for processing, distributing, and archiving study processes, datasets, and materials. She is responsible for writing and testing programming for data collection applications, performing consistency checks, logic analysis, cleaning of complex dataset structures and ensuring that study standards and conventions are met. Kelly also provides and reviews analyses to be included in externally-distributed products.

Laurie Winslow
Laurie is the research project administrator for the study. She handles the post award administration for the project. She prepares and maintains detailed budgets, financial statements, and various reports. She maintains all administrative records. Laurie is the coordinator of our Restricted Data Access application process and an administrator of our Online Commons. Laurie is also a key participant in our testing of the survey instrument programming, reviewing question text and other documentation related to the instrument.
